Isn't Christmas with little ones around is so magical?
I know that Maelee doesn't even know what in the world is going on but I still think it's fun. I hope she looks back in time and realizes I tried to make things extra special for her even if she had no clue what was happening.
Last year was my nephew's very first Christmas and I just remember how much fun it was to watch him and to finally have some little kids around because they make the holidays so much more fun! Well it is true. This year, now that Maelee is around it. is. a. blast.
One of my goals of being a parent is to make sure I keep the magic alive for as long as possible for my kids. Let me just say, I never believed in Santa Claus. Maybe it's because I was the youngest of four, or maybe it's because my parents were THE worlds worst present hiders ever. I think I knew what "Santa" was getting me every single year. Sad, I know. One year I can remember finding an outfit that Santa was supposed to get me, wearing it to school without my mom and dad knowing, and then putting it back when I got home. They never knew! They were not very good at being Santa.. haha so it is my mission that Maelee believes in Santa until she is 18! Well.. maybe not that old but you get the picture!

We did our own version of the 12 days of Christmas for our bug.
One book a day for 12 days.
We were really lacking in the book department before now ( I think I had about the same 5 books I would read over and over again ) but now we are getting all stocked up!!!
Also, Jesse and I have decided that we may as well write our own children's book because they are all well
stupid.
She is getting pretty good at unwrapping her presents. I think mostly she just likes to eat the wrapping paper.
And tonight..
Maelee met Santa!!!!
We also got her a few pairs of Christmas Jammies and gave them to her early

We went to Willard Bay to drive through the lights. I had never been before and we loved it. I can't wait until next year we will for sure take Maelee in the horse carriage to see the lights.
