12 Months Old

It has been almost a week since my baby turned ONE! I don't think it really hit me until today, maybe I have just really avoided thinking that my baby isn't a baby anymore. What a year it has been. Isn't it amazing what a baby can learn in one year?! Every day I watch Maelee and just can't quite believe how big and smart she is getting. Maelee isn't the only one that has learned a lot in just a year. I have learned more this year then I think ever in my life. While Maelee was learning to army crawl, crawl, and then walk.. I was learning patience, caring, and perspective. I am so thankful and feel so blessed to have this amazing, sweet, beautiful little girl.. I always tell Jesse that Maelee's birth day was the best and worst day of my life! The best of course because I got a perfect baby girl, but the worst because it was a hard hard hard hard day, see her birth story here.... She makes me smile every day and makes me so so happy. It is hard work!! Harder then I probably ever imagined it would be, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

On to the fun stuff!

12 Month Stats

Height: 30.75 in... 90%
Weight: 22 lbs 6 oz... 75%
Head: 47 cm... 90%

I wanted to wait until her 12month checkup to start her on table food so since her doctor appoint she has been eating big girl food. She has been doing okay, I worry because it seems like she isn't eating as much food as she did when she ate baby food. Now and then I still give her some baby food. :) We have been feeding her lots of stage 3 baby food that is very chunky but she doesn't like to swallow the chunks. Also, we are saying goodbye to the bottle now that she is a year old and will switch to whole milk in a sippy cup! I have been trying lots of different sippy cups and it seems like she likes the one with the straw the best.

My Maelee at 12 months is...

Walking! She has been walking for a while now... Probably right after she turned 11 months she started walking around. That is all she wants to do, you will rarely see her on her hands and knees now because all she wants to do is walk, walk, walk. She sure keeps me on my toes!

She has been saying lots of words for a while now but here are just a few... momma, dadda, ma (grandma), pa (grandpa), Jo (Jordon), baby, ball, no no no, HI, shoes

Speaking of saying "no no no", she will walk around shaking her finger saying "no no no"

She loves to be outside! She got a swing for her birthday and has been loving it! It makes her sleepy

She has soooo many different laughs! It is my very favorite

When you ask her what a puppy says she barks

When you ask her what a snake says she says "ssssss"

When you ask her where her nose is she sticks her finger UP her nose like she is picking it!

It seems like every month she becomes more of a cuddle bug. Now, FINALLY... she will walk up to me just to give me and other people a hug. It means so much to me!

She talks to everybody!! Every time she sees someone of if they walk out and then back into the room she says HI. She has the sweetest voice

Have I ever mentioned how much she talks?! :) I know I have because I cannot believe how much this girl has to say! All day long she jibber jabbers.. and..... I LOVE IT!

She is STILL terrified of the vacuum and anything else that is loud... Oh how I wish she would grow out of this one so I don't have to be so guilty every time I turn the vacuum on

She gets so many compliments on how beautiful she is and everyone tells me I am going to have my hands full when she turns 16! Everyone can't believe how pretty her eyes are.

I love you so much sweet baby girl. I can't imagine what life would be like now if I didn't have you here with me. I love you with all my heart. Thanks for making me the happiest mommy in the world.
