We decided that we wanted to try the Elf on The Shelf this year with Mae.
I was worried at first because I thought we would be doing all this work and she wouldn't really understand it, but she did, and she loved it.
The first day we met our elf, Trixie, she came in through the front door leaving a trail of sugar.. She brought us a snowy donut breakfast and some hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.
I read the book to her and explained it all. She thought it was pretty neat.
When Mae got out of bed and went out to see these footprints she said! "AH! Who made this messy mess?! "
This picture was before she learned she couldn't touch her or the magic will be lost.. We were reading the book and Maelee insisted Trixie sit right next to her and read along with us. Cutest thing ever.
Here's a few pictures of the shenanigans Trixie pulled throughout the month.
It was so fun to wake up and find Trixie every day.. Maelee would walk out and say,
"Where is that Trixie?!"
She did lots of fun things! I forgot to take a picture of one of my favorites.. One day Trixie brought a magical Santa key, since we don't have a chimney, so that Santa would be able to visit our home. Mae thought that was awesome and told everyone that Trixie brought her a magical key!
Maelee's Nana and Papa made her the cutest advent calendar! I think it was the highlight of her month. Every morning she would get to open a new stocking and find a surprise inside and every morning we had the same conversation. She was always very polite and waited for me to wake up, and then would ask.. "Can we open a stocking?!" Then we both would get so excited and go pick it out and open it up in bed. Every day she would be beside herself with excitement and yell out "OH BOY! OH BOY!" Best way to wake up every day, and always started out the day so fun!
Here are some of her treasures from her stockings. . .
Some little ponies and other tiny toys
Window stickers
Bath Confetti
A Nativity set
and some squinkies toys!
These two pictures were taken on the very last day she got to open one, Christmas Eve.. She got some cute jammies! We are going to miss that morning excitement! She really loved this!
Another fun thing we did at the first of December was decorate Mae's Christmas tree for her bedroom. Last year, she didn't have her own room so it was so much fun that she had her very own spot for her purple tree!
Just some fun pics of some of our December...
Watching princess Sophia in her princess crown, of course!
Helping mommy make chocolate chip cookies and watching Nemo!
Could snuggle with this one all day if she'd let me!
Modeling her new clothes for mom..
These pictures need no words..
This little girl loves her dad
Chasing around the house with daddy! She had to wear her "helmet" as she liked to call her snow hat.
My visiting teaching and neighbor gifts!
I just love her!
Helping daddy clean off the driveway. Thank goodness for snow blowers!
Who says you can't ride your cozy coupe in the winter!?!
She was just loving this snow!
Life is so fun with my buggy!
