2.5 Years Old!

Here she is!
My BEAUTIFUL, sweet, sassy, crazy, funny, smart 2.5 year old!
She turned 2.5 back in November, and I have been working on this post pretty much since then, I just haven't gotten around to posting it. To me, these age posts are some of the most important posts I will do. I just want to remember every little thing about her at every stage, IT GOES BY SO QUICK!
I just love this girl with all my heart.
Some things she has been doing at this fun age:

I wish I could list some new words she has learned or new sounds or something, but the truth is she is 2.5 going on 13! She knows all the words and says most of them correctly.
She has the sweetest voice ever.

She knows these shapes: circle, square, triangle, star, diamond, heart, octagon, and rectangle.
She can count to 13.

Up until a few months ago, we were thinking she was color blind! When you asked her what a color was she would always reply "BLUE!" and then we would always respond with "Noooo! That's (insert color)!! One day her colors just clicked for her! She knows them all.
She is a big tease. Still to this day when we are quizzing her on her colors, she will say "that's blue!" with a goofy grin on her face.. she knows the color but likes our response when she says blue.
She's fun.

I think like most kids she is weary of some people and gets shy, but for the most part she is really friendly and outgoing and everyone she plays with is her best friend.

We say "I love you" a million times a day! I love when she just randomly tells me she loves me.
Where did my good eater go?! My baby that would try anything and everything?!?! Those days are long gone! I have a picky eater on my hands. My mom says that it is pay back for all my picky eater days… I am constantly worrying about her and wondering if she is getting enough good nutrition.
She will not eat veggies. Won't even try them. At all.
I got a magic bullet for Christmas and have been making her green smoothies every day.
Some days are better then others and she will drink them, but we are working on it.
She sure loves her junk food though which I have also been working on.
I used to be less strict and give in, if she wouldn't eat her dinner, I would still give her dessert because in my mind, at least SOMETHING was getting in her belly.
I have put my foot down though.
If she doesn't want to eat her dinner she cannot have dessert, period.
I FEEL SO BAD, but I think it's the right thing.

She has quite the imagination and could play alone with her friends (toys, stuffed animals) all day if I let her. My favorite is just listening to her do her thing and have her cute conversations with all of her friends.

Her favorite shows to watch right now are: Princess Sofia, Monsters Inc., Curious George, Peppa Pig and pretty much anything on the disney channel.

She loves to read.

She will grab your face with both hands and say "you is kind. you is smart. you is important." Something she learned from her dad, who always used to do this to her after watching The Help.
She loves to sleep with mommy and daddy.
We really love it too. They are only little once!

She loves art! Any kind, she just loves it and she has been
working on using her special scissors to cut her paper.

She loves anything teeny tiny and collects things to put her in treasure boxes.

She likes to sleep with her toys a lot but consistently has to have her sea otter and her dolly or else she will not go to sleep.
She likes to pretend like she is a puppy and always says her name is Lucy.
I think because our neighbors dog's name is Lucy and she thinks she is the cutest thing ever.

She is funny and makes me laugh all day long, I wish I could just carry around a recorder so you could hear how funny she is. One time she went #2 and told me, "LOOK MOMMY! I pooped a rainbow!!" I don't know where she comes up with this stuff but she keeps me laughing.
I have said it before and it still holds true.
She is my mini me. She acts just like me. Which I like because it makes me see myself through her eyes and makes me want to be a better person.

She loves to sing and knows so many songs!

At home, she is the best most well-behaved toddler ever. She never gets in to anything she's not supposed to (knock on wood) she just knows the rules and does her thing. Don't get me wrong, she's two, she definitely has her moments and has days where I swear her only goal for the day is to send me to the crazy house, but for the most part.. She is a good girl, she listens to me and is so polite. I am so proud of her. Every day when she gets done with a meal she says "thank you mommy, it was delicious!"

With that being said.. She is messy!! I never realized how fast a house could be cluttered with tiny toys. It's like everywhere you look there is a toy even though you swore you just put that darn toy away 2 minutes ago. I will go to put something away that she isn't playing with and she will say "NO! NO! I am playing with that!" I have learned that a few toys here and there are okay. One day, my house will be empty and I will miss those toys!
I could seriously go on forever about Maelee, she is just such a special girl. She is thoughtful and caring and sooo tender hearted. I pray every day that she will stay sweet and not let this mean world harden her. She teaches me so much. She teaches me patience, she teaches me what the true meaning of unconditional love is. She makes me want to work on myself so that I can be the best possible example to her that I can be. She still loves me even on the days when I am probably too hard on her. She sees the best in things. When I'm complaining about something or just being negative, she tells me "Mom it's fine!" I just adore her and I love that I get to be the one she calls mommy.
