I have been horrible at my blog these past few months. I have become a once a month kind of blogger. There is a good reason for it though..
We put our house up for sale by owner on March 6, 2012. We listed it on a few websites like ksl and craiglist but didn't put a sign up out front for maybe a week. When we did stick our for sale sign out front we immediately had several calls. The first day we did some showings to two different families, the first couple was interested but not quite ready to buy because they weren't getting married for a few months and didn't want a house payment for the months they weren't living there yet, but told us if we were willing to wait the few months until their wedding that they would take it. The second family who looked at it loved it and right then and there told us that they wanted it. They asked us if they could have it "as is" I wasn't exactly sure what this meant but she told me she wanted everything, every decoration, every piece of furniture--- even small things like our shower curtain. I was really surprised, there were things that I was not willing to part with, like most of my decorations that I have spent years collecting. :)

We didn't have a realtor so we decided that we would write up a contract and the prices of the things inside the home that we were willing to sale them. After this, we decided that we needed a little help with the paperwork since we had never sold a home before so we contacted Jesse's cousin who is a realtor to do all the dirty work for us, and he did such a great job. If you need a realtor his name is Chad Felter and works for Remax.
After the first set of paperwork was signed things moved pretty quickly... To be honest, I was not optimistic and figured things wouldn't work out and we wouldn't be moving, so I never really thought a lot about it. When we got the call that the appraisal went smoothly I immediately was happy and then literally two seconds later got pretty emotional. I have so many things going through my head right now. I am happy to finally be moving onto the next chapter of our lives. I am sad that I have to leave my cute, little home that I have grown to love so much behind. I am nervous because so much is unknown at this point with where our next home will be. I just keep telling myself that "home is wherever I'm with you" As long as I have my family with me I am happy.
We are very fortunate to have so many willing family members to take us into their homes. We have moved in with Jesse's parents for a while, while we figure out our next step. The reason we put our home up for sale in the first place is because we really want to get into something bigger where we can comfortably raise our children. So that's where we are at and what our next step is.
I am sad to be leaving my home behind. When we first bought our home before we were married, I really hated it. I thought it was junky, ghetto, and too small. Jesse and his dad did such amazing work and fixed it up super nice. Over the years, I have just grown to love it so much. We have had so many special memories in our home, and I will admit that I am sad to close this chapter of our lives, but am also really excited to see where life takes us now. On to bigger and better things I guess! :)
Along with moving and looking for a new job, I have been planning a FIRST birthday party!! Maelee's FIRST birthday party is this Sunday and I am so excited!! Let's all cross our fingers that the weather is nice, because the party is supposed to be outside!! Check back soon for her party post!
Maelee has done really really well with the move. I was nervous it was going to mess up her schedule or screw up her amazing sleeping habits at night, but she has been great and stayed right on schedule!! She has adjusted really well and loves getting to be able to see her grandma and grandpa every single day. She also loves to chase Tynee, their little yorkie all over the place, even though he really hates it!! Oh and have I mentioned she has been walking for about a month now and is EVERYWHERE!!

I'm so SO excited for her first birthday!!! So are we invited to the family party or what?
Yay congratulations! We just bought a house without a realtor, tons of paperwork! So exciting for your little girl to turn 1, too fast right?
I am so happy for you and your family. I desperately want to move also, but I too will be sad for the same reasons. Here is to hoping you find the perfect place soon.
